About Doxanano

Doxanano is a start-up created in 2023 by Isabel Marey-Semper and co-founded by Pr Sébastien Lecommandoux, director of the Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques in Bordeaux, and Dr Leslie Dubrana.

Doxanano is committed to pushing the limits of conventional chemotherapy for patients with solid tumors. Our goal is to significantly increase the selective delivery of chemotherapeutic agents into the tumor whilst dramatically limiting adverse effects on healthy organs. We specialize in harnessing the unique properties of our DXN polymersomes drug delivery platform in combination with the precision of radiotherapy.

Internship description

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our research team. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the synthesis, characterization, and formulation of copolymers that are sensitive to X-rays.

Key Responsibilities

• Copolymers synthesis:
  • Participate in the synthesis of X-ray sensitive copolymers
  • Assist in designing and optimizing synthetic routes
  • Conduct experiments under the supervision of researchers, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Chemical Characterization:
  • Perform chemical characterization of synthesized using techniques such as NMR, IR, and GPC
  • Specific characterization after irradiation
• Formulation :
  • Contribute to the formulation of the synthesized copolymers
  • Characterization of nanoparticles by DLS, MALS, for example.
  • Provide input on potential improvements or modifications to enhance the copolymers' functionality.

Your profile

• Master's program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of polymer chemistry and synthesis techniques
• Skills in chemical characterization methods are an advantage
• Data analysis and report findings
• Knowledge of Data would BE a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Results-oriented and are not afraid to take initiatives
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Good level of English (B2 minimum), French is a plus
